Alicia Maude
I thought I would introduce myself, my name is Alicia Maude, owner, designer and manufacturer for Maude & Noah. As a dream I dreamt of having my own business called Glitzy Corner, selling makeup, cushions with frilly bits and clothing that I would design, imagine an eight year old with her Barbie dolls pretending to play shop. I wanted to turn my childhood dream into a reality with a variety of products but with a more mature name, I didn't want to make it too girlie but part of me so I chose my middle name Maude and my confirmation name Noah and that's the reason behind the name. The next step was actually setting it up and launching.
2018
Months and months of planning and designing, testing products and manufacturers out, setting up social media accounts and making sure they are active but on the 5th November 20218 I launched the first collection for Maude & Noah which was a range of personalised jewellery. I stood at two Christmas fayres and made a few sales.
2019 - 2020
The jewellery wasn't working, I wanted to be able to give my customers their purchases within a week maximum but that was becoming difficult for my manufacturers. Fresh start moving locations from Leicester to Harrogate, a little rebrand and launching a new range of products; candles, wax tarts and greeting cards.
2020 - 2021
Changed the shape/size for Maude & Noah's 2nd birthday plus a few new ranges and products. This year has been difficult due to COVID-19, it was an unsteady year of sales but I appreciate every sale, every customer picture and every review.
2021 - 2022
Our 3rd birthday is the time for the big rebrand and new scents, I have big plans for Maude & Noah, this year, new ideas, new products... I just feel like this is the year for Maude & Noah. I want to make Maude & Noah more sustainable with the products and packaging. I did my first artisan market in Harrogate, I learnt a lot from this market and given me many ideas for future events.
2022 - 2023
This has been a difficult year but to celebrate our 4th birthday I wanted to reevaluate Maude & Noah and turn it into the business I wanted as a child so beauty, fashion and lifestyle products. I did my first pop up shop in Harrogate, it was a bit rocky but I got to learn a lot about it, I also attended a few markets with Maude & Noah; Harrogate, Knaresborough, Wetherby, Ripon and Richmond. I have had multiple times this year where I sold out of my rude and crude greeting cards which makes me smile from ear to ear knowing that people have my cards on their mantel piece.
2023 - 2024
It's hard to think we're celebrating our fifth birthday. My aim for this year was to push Maude & Noah, goals to be stocked in size stores/retailers and I actually achieve it, I attended my first convention where I met amazing people who spent time with me mentoring me about business and how to improve.
2024 - onward
Since the company's sixth birthday calls for a birthday present, I've added some flair and some colour to our packaging. This year, I want to get Maude & Noah stocked in five more stores and go to more events to promote the company. I also want to concentrate on bringing out more delectable scents in the house.
